The Start of the Journey

My name is Jake. I am 31 years old. I have a pretty decent paying job. My partner owns her own small business. We own our house (not outright, but are paying the mortgage). This is all a little bit of context so you know where I am starting this journey. You may be in a similar situation, or may just share the end goal and want to leverage what I uncover, or maybe are just following along for entertainment (or you just accidentally found this page and aren't planning on sticking around :( ), regardless, I hope you find this journey insightful, and I hope you join me.

I recently made a series of foolish mistakes and have essentially no savings, and I have some debt. I am able to service this debt with my paycheck but I need to get ahead, so I have begun looking up and brainstorming ways to do just that. And somewhat arbitrarily I have set the goal to be $100,000 of net positive savings, income, earnings potential, hence the title of the blog My100kJourney. In all of reality if this can be a shared journey and that would be even better.

So no matter if you feel you're late to the game (as I feel - not being ahead by 30 and not really developing my skillset to branch off on my own), or if you recently fell upon hard times, or feel burnt out by the typical work system lets mentally steel our minds and take the first step in this journey. The road may be unclear, but to succeed we'll have to take the first steps and see where the road takes us - setting our sights on a goal, getting pen to paper and getting our noses to the grindstone; I'll see you at 100k!
