Crossing from 2024 to 2025 and you can't go back!
Crossing from 2024 to 2025 and you can't go back!

The new year is upon us and this is always a chance to reflect on the prior year as well as a chance to get your mind right for what's ahead. While you could do this at any point through the year, the new year holds a special significance to start afresh, with promises of resolutions and change. This is your chance to write a plan, to start a journey, to grow, to learn, to earn, to get healthy, wealthy, and to find purpose. If you already have a lot of positive momentum, this is your chance to really lean into that, to express gratuity, and to keep that momentum going.

2024 was a big year for me with lots of change, both good and bad and I will spend time looking at those moments. For example, one of my lowest points was in 2024 - losing a lot of money - and I can see psychological, all too human forces at play that contributed to the loss, and I can see holes I need to fill to prevent that again; namely I lacked a clear sense of purpose and I lacked a plan. I will work on those flaws that lead me to that point, and I will put in systems to avoid another similar incident. 2025 is a year in which I will make positive change. I will stand resolute even when things get tough. I will use this blog as a journal to keep ME accountable and to hopefully help YOU expand a skillset, or to inspire you to make a change or to simply learn new ideas.

Purpose will be the word of 2025. Purpose is king. Money without purpose will leave you feeling empty. That is partially why so many lottery winners end up broke, or why so many retired athletes with millions in earnings end up with nothing. That's why many people who are doing well (savings, house, etc) still have mid-life crisis. While this journey won't be fast and it likely won't be easy, it does give me some purpose and it does hold me accountable. I have already taken a lot of small steps, but the next steps (sticking with and growing those small starts) are much tougher. In the preliminary phases of this journey I've stumbled across inspiring, exciting, challenging and frustrating things that I will hopefully dive deeper into and share. I have a lot to be thankful for, and as I always I plan on grinding. I'll update my scorecard on a regular basis (it'll likely slowly change every couple weeks).

So with the new year already here, what do you want? Where will your journey take you? It may seem trite, but make a reso

lutions list, set some goals. Find a way to hold you accountable. I'll put a goals list in the comments as I fine tune it. Feel free to lob some of your goals in as well.
